Over the course of a nine-week visit to South Africa at the end of 2015, curator and writer Hansi Momodu-Gordon held conversations with nine artists represented by Stevenson. These conversations - with Serge Alain Nitegeka, Mawande Ka Zenzile, Deborah Poynton, Pieter Hugo, Viviane Sassen, Nicholas Hlobo, Nandipha Mntambo, Dineo Seshee Bopape and Meleko Mokgosi - are reproduced here along with short essays by Momodu-Gordon reflecting on the artists' practices and the insights that emerged from their encounters.
