Before becoming widely recognised for animation, drawing, and theatre, William Kentridge started out immersed in printmaking. At the Johannesburg Art Foundation he learned etching with Bill Ainslie, later teaching there himself, and exhibiting early monotypes and etchings like Domestic Scenes.
